For the Sake of Art: A Look Back at Qatar Art Center’s First Public Exhibition

From March 26 to April 25, 2019, the Qatar Art Center opened its doors to the public for the first time with the exhibition “For the Sake of Art” — a major milestone led by students from UCL-Qatar’s Museum and Gallery Practice program.

Supported by Sheikh Hassan bin Mohammed Al-Thani, the exhibition reflected six months of dedicated work, curation, and collaboration between students, the Qatar Art Center team, and renowned artists.

Held at the Qatar Art Center in Al Messila, Doha, the exhibition welcomed hundreds of visitors over the month-long showcase. It offered a unique insight into Qatar’s vibrant art scene and celebrated the dialogue between established artists and emerging curators.
